Premiere on the RecurDyn TechnologyDays 2014 during the 05th and 06th of November in Munich. Introducing the first time ...
Have you ever wanted access to a strong MultiBody Dynamics (MBD) capability from within your Workbench user environment? It would be great to be able to simulate the motion and all of the related physics of your mechanical assemblies. You could understand the behavior of your assembly up-front and you could generate the laods that you need for your component-level FEA.
A strong MultiBody Dynamics (MBD) capability in Workbench would need to model contacts easily ans solve assemblies with contacts quickly. It would let the user define a set of load cases by selecting output points of the work cycle simulation, and automatically define the linear statics models for the component of interest. If would provide MBD-specific advanced post processing capabilities. And finally, it would provide a way to transfer your MBD model to an advanced MBD tool (without losing the work done) when specialized MultiBody Dynamics capabilities are needed.
We conceived and developed MultiBody Dynamics (MBD) for ANSYS after considering the requirements and potential benefits just listed. As the group of people who develop and provide the RecurDyn line of MBD software, we have an unique ability to create and maintain a powerful MultiBody Dynamics (MBD) tool for the ANSYS community. More informations during our RecurDyn TechnologyDays including a live demonstration and workshop of the new MultiBody Dynamics for ANSYS tool. You can find the invitation as well as the registration form here.
Definition of MultiBody Dynamics Simulation - Mehrkörpersimulation (German)
The multibody simulation (MBS) is a software tool for computer aided engineering (CAE) and is designed for the simulation of mechanical components and their kinematic properties. The heart of any multibody simulation software program is the so called solver.
The solver is a computation algorithms for solving equation of motions. A multibody system is used to simulate the dynamic behavior of interconnected rigid and flexible bodies, each of which may undergo large translational and rotational displacements. The motion of bodies is described by their kinematic behavior. The dynamic behavior results from the equilibrium of applied forces and the rate of change of momentum. A body is usually considered to be a rigid or flexible part of a mechanical system. A link is the connection of two or more bodies, or a body with the ground. The link is defined by certain (kinematical) constraints that restrict the relative motion of the bodies.
In modern research and development departments, CAE software tools are playing an increasingly important role during the development process of innovative products. CAE software programs help the engineer during the development to look virtually insight a product and detect the strengths and weaknesses of it. The weaknesses can therefore be reduced before the first component gets manufactured.
RecurDyn is a modern CAE software suite which offers the unique combination of Multibody Dynamics, Finite Element Analysis and Controls.
Dynamic Rigid and Flexible Body Analysis fully integrated linear and non-linear Finite Element Analysis capabilities let you create detailed, realistic models for design studies and improving your product's performance. By using your FE mesh directly in your RecurDyn model, you can simulate overall motion as well as local deformations and stresses.
Model building, simulation and post-processing interfaces provide you with the best design and analysis tool for complex mechanisms. Fully integrated linear and non-linear Finite Element Analysis capabilities let you create detailed, realistic models for design studies and improving your product's performance.
RecurDyn offers a variety of industry specific toolkits to model tracks, chains, belts and media transportation. You can customize RecurDyn using ProcessNet (PNet), which offers a programming interface based on the Microsoft .NET – Technology. PNet gives the RecurDyn user the possibility to write own macros in common programming languages like Visual Basic .NET or C#.
RecurDyn solver is 2 - 20 times faster than other dynamic solutions because of its advanced fully recursive algorithm. Whether you are simulating mechanisms, tracks, belts or chains, you can carry out more design iterations in less time.
RecurDyn offers its own controls toolkit. You have the opportunity to use the Co-Simulation with Matlab/Simulink or the attached controls interface to other 3rd party software tools e.g. Scilab.
